Plans

I thought I had it all figured out. I thought I knew Yahweh’s plans.

I had already decided that I was going to completely live my life for Him.

And then, I thought that I knew what His plans were. But…they were still my own.

The beginning was Yahweh inspired. I felt deep inside, and still do to this day, this driving force of inspiration.

I really didn’t understand what Yahweh had planned for me in this way.

At that moment in time, I just “knew” that I was called to start a club for all the kids in the neighborhood, especially girls.

I was just a Yahweh seeking pre-teen, who happened to be the eldest of them all and driven to plan.

So, I began a club that I imagined to be like The Buttercream Gang (it’s a movie, about kids who help out around their community).

That was my idea, and I thought that it was Yahweh’s will.

How a group of kids who most of them couldn’t even read yet, were going to become like The Buttercream Gang, I had no idea. But I went full force into it with all my heart.

The problem was, I never properly consulted Yahweh even once.

Instead, I did what I thought Yahweh wanted.

The club barely ‘survived’ two Summers. I tried to not be the leader, but the leadership positions crumble before they were hardly set, and as the oldest and founder, they all looked up to me. And I took charge.

Not only did I not seek Yahweh’s will in this matter. But I also tried to listen to everyone’s advise and ideas. Each one of us, including our parents and neighbors, had a different view or goal as to what the club actually was.

So…the club diminished after many, many lessons learned the hard way, two Summers later.

Though I do regret the things that happened, I am thankful for the valuable life lessons that I have learned.

I already see how this has helped shape me into the person I am today. It has kept me from making the same mistake again, and I pray that this will continue.

One of the biggest lessons, that I have learned from starting and directing a club, is that it is extremely important to seek Yahweh’s will in everything.

Time and Time again, have I seen in my short life, that our plans do not prosper and our dreams and thoughts are meaningless, if we go our own way.

For only what is done for Christ will last.

” Trust in Yahweh with all thine heart; and lean not on thy own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear Yahweh, and depart from evil.”

~ Proverbs 3:5-7

I pray that in the future, whatever Yahweh calls me to do, that I will seek Him and His guidance, in every matter, no matter how small.

Sweet Blessings.

  1. This is a beautiful post! It’s so true that we need to rely on God with anything. He’s here to help and guide us with any and everything. I’m glad you learned this lesson, because it’s very important and I hope to continue relying on Him, myself. Thanks for sharing! 😊

  2. Yes, often we must learn lessons the hard way. Sometimes we have to beat our heads against some walls before we finally realize we are going in the wrong direction. And, sometimes we need repeat lessons, too, because sometimes we forget the lessons learned when things are going smoother.

And, some people never learn, and they keep repeating the same errors over and over and over again. And, that is really sad, indeed. So, it is good when we learn the lessons, even if they have to be learned the hard way, for that means we are moving forward, and that is very good! Progress is always good!

  3. It is a blessing to read how the Lord is shaping this generation; still by the power of His own will. We finally see and are shaped by His own hands, word and Spirit after decades. If you have time read A Sheep’s View, a page from our blog. Blessings as you continue to seek His plans and trust in Him with all your heart. πŸ™‚

    1. The original Bible is written in Hebrew and Greek. Yahweh (YHWH) is the original Hebrew name of God. Many versions of the Bible translate His name, but personal names cannot be translated. Your name is always your name no matter what language you speak. I have recently learned of Yahweh’s original true Hebrew name, I use it now. Yahweh carries the meaning ” He is” or ‘He causes to be”.
Many Jews and religions call Him ‘Yahweh’, but I just believe the entire Bible and strive everyday to follow it. I personally haven’t found any religions that are completely true. So, I follow Yahweh and study His Word, the Bible.🌸
